Golf Tournament

EverySpring AIChE hosts its annual Industry Golf Tournament. This is a greatopportunity for students to interact and network with industryrepresentatives. All companies companies are invited to participate, aswell as profs. This year all golf fees, club rentals, cart rentals,food and drink will be $10, and sign-up sheets should be available nextmeeting. The tournament consists of four-person teams that play in ascramble fashion. Prizes are given to the top teams, the person whodrives closest to the pin and also to the person with the longest drive.

 

Industry Mentor Program

Theindustry mentor program is designed to pair undergraduate chemicalengineers with professional ChemE's. The program is a benefit tostudents because it teaches them about all the possibilities availableto them after graduation. The benefit for industry is increasedrelations between AIChE and various companies, which in turn leads tostronger recruitment.

AIChE Intramurals

Eachsemester we participate in basketball, volleyball, soccer, flagfootball, and softball intramurals. The turnout is usually very goodand legend has it that AIChE has won its fair share of championships.

Big Event

Eachyear, our chapter participates in the Big Event. Big Event is thelargest one-day student run service project in the nation. Last yearover 5300 students volunteered to complete over 525 jobs in theBryan-College Station Community.

 

National Engineer's Week

NationalEngineer's Week is held each spring and in support of it, AIChE hostsits annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament. It is held at the Rec and allproceeds go to a local charity. AIChE is also involved in EngineeringDay at the mall. At this event, members provide local youths withhands-on experience in various science activities. We also take thisopportunity to inform the community, especially young people, about thechemical engineering profession.

 

Parents' Weekend Picnic

Eachspring during Parent's Weekend at Texas A&M University, AIChEsponsors its annual picnic, which allows an opportunity for professors,students, and their families to interact. This event promotes theestablishment of better lines of communication between the faculty andthe students.
